Amebis Presis Pro
The Amebis Presis Pro user interface is the most powerful tool in the Amebis Presis Translation System. Its additional functions offer even greater help in translation, so working with it becomes even faster and more convenient.
Introduction To the Translation System
You can simply type the text to translate into the entry field, you can copy it through the clipboard or just open a .txt or .rtf file.
Before initialising translation, you can use the built-in spellchecker to check for any spelling errors and correct them, as this will improve the quality of the translation.
There are two ways to translate. The first option is sentence-by-sentence translation, where you only see one sentence at a time. When you finish translating each sentence with the help of the program and its tips, you jump to the next sentence to translate.
You can also translate the entire text automatically with the appropriate command. If you choose this option, the translation of the entire text will appear in the translation window after a while. How quickly the translation is finished depends on the computer's processing speed and the length of the text. Typical translation speed is tens of A4 pages per minute.
To make your work easier, you can either expand or shrink the entire program window. You can also adjust the size of the input and translation fields and the font size.
Amebis Presis Pro marks four types of translated words with customizable colours: 1. words with only one known translation, 2. words with several possible translations, 3. untranslated proper names and 4. unknown words. Colour marking allows you to spot any errors more quickly and so makes it easier to correct them sooner.
You can change the translation as you wish, using the program's tips. If you encounter a word with several translations, the tips appear automatically the moment you place your cursor on a certain word. You can also call up the tips by clicking the right mouse button, which opens a pop-up menu. When you click on one of the tips that the program offers, the tip will automatically replace the word in the text. You can continue editing the word inside the text.
If you have any ASP32 electronic dictionaries installed on your computer, you can use the built-in link to them to make your work easier. If the cursor is on a particular word in one of the windows and you press the appropriate button, the selected dictionary will open and automatically display this entry.
If the program does not translate a word or has no translation for it, you can add your own translation to the custom dictionary. You can also save whole sentences that repeat in your texts in this memory. With this you can greatly improve the quality of your translation just by adding a few entries covering your frequent phrases.
